How to choose the best blogger/blogspot template for Adsense?

To answer this question, you actually need to ask yourself, why do you create the blog in a first place?

As for me, I blog because I want to make money from it. Don’t get me wrong, I love blogging but I also love money. Some people do it because of their passion for writing; some just want to share their experiences, knowledge or opinions; while for most people especially pro-bloggers, they just want to earn money from the blog.

I always categorize blog into two types:

• Short-term blog
• Long-tem blog

Short-term blog means you create the blog because you wanted to make money from it in a short period of time. Normally, these kinds of blog always fall under niche-blog category. You must be thinking, “What the heck is a niche blog?”

Well, niche blog is a blog which created specially made just to target certain keywords. Normally you need to do an extensive keyword research before you can create the blog because you need to know how profitable is the keyword and how many competitors out there so that you can rank high at Google search engine.

For this kind case, you don’t need a fancy template. My personal favourite would be Minima template. Yes, the default template for Blogspot! Why?


The reason is very simple. Normally for this kind of blog, it’s very rare for you to have loyal returning visitors. They just come from the search engines and go after they found what they needed. So, all you need is to slap a Google ads on top of the post (above the fold), make it visible to the visitors and force them to click on it.

By “force”, I don’t mean that you should tell them to click on the ads because it’s violating Google’s term but it’s more of a psychological thingy. We all know how boring the Minima template is. It just makes you feel like you want to leave the website as quickly as possible but of course you need to go somewhere else after that to look for more information. If the links that showing on your Adsense ads are related the things that they are looking for, they will eventually click on it because they have no other place to go.

So, you want to exploit this opportunity to profit from it and Minima template is the perfect choice for this task.

Long-term blog is something that you created out of passion for blogging. In this case, you should pick a good looking template because this is where you create your own fan base. People tend to keep coming back if they think your blog is worth visiting based on the look and contents. Unfortunately, it’s going to take some time before you can actually make money from it.

2) Stick to your budget

I know it’s really hard to do especially when the pretty (leng lui) promoter keeps whispering to your ear to buy the one with better specs but at the end of the day, it’s your hard-earned money we are talking about here.

3) Buy according to your needs

People always buy something that they don’t need especially when it comes to onetime offer. Ask yourself the purpose of buying the laptop. If you’re just a casual user that only uses the notebook for surfing, you don’t need the high end notebook with super duper specs.

4) Give it a try first

Buying a notebook is not the same as buying a PC because the keyboard is not standardize. You don’t want to end up with a notebook with the keyboard too small for your fingers. Another tips for you, try lifting the notebook. Is it too heavy for you?

5) Pick the right day

I know this is sound weird but try not to go on Saturday because during that day, it’s going to be a lot of people and most of the time the promoter don’t have much to spend on each customer. It means, it’s hard for you to get discount or get extra free stuffs.

I'm finally back here!

I’m beginning a new chapter for this blog. No more copy and paste contents from other website but simply original, more personal and something that I’m really interested or good at. Frankly speaking, I’m not so much of a writer. Plus, English is not really my forte but I’m learning and hopefully by blogging I can improve the language.

As a starter, I’ve changed the template for Jimipedia because the old template is currently facing some problems with the graphic. Most probably because all the pictures have been removed from the server which I don’t have any back up at all.
I think this template look just nice and professional compare to the previous one. Hopefully it will bring a new perspective to the readers out there.

Fortunately for me, the traffic is quite nice although I didn’t put any new post on this blog for months. I guess Google really love this blog and continues sending traffic here. Frankly speaking, I’ve put lots of effort on building Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for this blog back then.

On the other hand, I’ve decided to remove all the old posts here in order to start something new. But hey, I don’t expect things to be easy for me.

You might be wondering, why the hell did I abandon this blog after all the hard work?
I think back then, I was tired to update my blogs (yes, I have plenty of blogs) and decided to start something new. I will talk about my other projects in the next post, which also got something to do with blogging.
